Katavasi

 

Katavasi is a small village on the main road from Chios to Volissos (31 Km from the town). It is built around the church of the Chian Saint Matrona (memory on October 20th) who was born in Volissos in the 13th or 14th century AD. Near the church cold spring water comes out in the shade of a huge platan.
